Description[]

The Kingpin is a Hardcore tower that can be brought for 3,000 when the player reaches Level 175. Kingpin buffs spawner tower, Reducing their spawn time by 10% at Level 0. This buff is increased with levels, with the max level reducing spawn time for spawner towers by 50%, but it cannot buff it's own units.

At Level 4 it gains the Cavalry ability the ability will summon two Hitmen (Hitman) on the map. Level 5 spawns will spawn two additional units along with spawning Hitmen II, replacing the Units it had previously spawned. The spawn-reduction buff cannot be stacked though, an upgraded Kingpin with a stronger buff percentage will override the previous one.

The Kingpin can be considered an mid game to late-game tower due to it's cost, it boasts a strong amount of range and Decent DPS making it a good option during half-way through the game. While not having the highest DPS of the other Hardcore Towers, it is also considered a support tower; through reducing the spawn time for Spawner towers like the Crook Boss.

Level 1 - Precision ($500)

  • +3 Range

Level 2 - Influence ($2,500)

  • +1 Damage
  • 10% > 15% Reduced spawn time
  • Other Units get a 15% range buff while attacking


Level 3 - Stronger Assault Rifle ($6,000)

  • +3 Damage
  • 0.128 > 0.098 Firerate


Level 4 - Underground Syndicate ($14,000)

  • 15% > 30% Reduced spawn time
  • +3 Range
  • +3 Damage
  • 15% > 30% Unit Range Buff
  • Other Units deal 20% more damage
  • Passive Ability: Hitmen
    • Spawns Three Hitmen at the End of the Map every 60 seconds.


Level 5 - Notorious Crime Boss ($30,000)

  • +5 Damage
  • +2 Range
  • 30% > 50% Reduced Spawn time
  • +Upgraded Hitmen
    • Hitman > Hitman II
    • Spawns One additional unit every 60 seconds

Trivia[]

  • This is the first tower to reduce the spawn time, from Unit Towers.
    • (Ignore This!) In the Future, more towers with spawn-time reduction buffs can occur.
    • The Kingpin can be specially used in combination with spawner towers. Though this could be unreliable, inconsistent, but good for catching leaks?
  • The alternate/former Store Description: "Won't be for sale :)" Was found in a Modded Version of TDS. (Go find it yourself!)
